Description

The XV Practical Course on Basic Therapeutic Digestive Endoscopy, directed by Dr. Francisco Miguel Sánchez Margallo, Scientific Director of CCMIJU, and Dr. Miguel Fernández Bermejo, from Cáceres University Hospital, is designed to provide comprehensive training in the fundamental techniques of therapeutic digestive endoscopy. Over two intensive days, participants will combine theoretical and practical sessions aimed at mastering essential procedures in the endoscopic management of the upper digestive tract.

The program covers everything from familiarization with endoscopic equipment and relevant anatomy to the practical application of techniques such as dilation of esophageal strictures, endoscopic tattooing, deployment of metallic stents, foreign body extraction, and endoscopic treatment of Zenker’s diverticulum. During the second day, more complex procedures are addressed, including hemostasis techniques, polypectomy, endoscopic mucosal resection, and percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy, integrating theory and practice using experimental models.

The teaching team is composed of highly regarded specialists in the field of digestive endoscopy: Dr. Iván Romero Sánchez-Miguel (12 de Octubre University Hospital, Madrid), Dr. Antonio José Hervás Molina (Reina Sofía University Hospital, Córdoba), Dr. José María Mateos Rodríguez, Dr. Pedro Luis González Cordero, and Dr. Miguel Fernández Bermejo (Cáceres University Hospital), together with Dr. Servando Fernández Díez (San Carlos Clinical Hospital, Madrid). Their experience and dedication ensure rigorous, practice-oriented training, providing participants with a solid theoretical and practical foundation for the development of clinical competencies in therapeutic digestive endoscopy.
