Laparoscopic Suturing Course: Upper Digestive Tract

A theoretical and practical training course designed for surgeons interested in refining their skills in intracorporeal suturing techniques applied to upper gastrointestinal procedures. Over the course of three days, participants will develop advanced skills through exercises using simulators and experimental models, covering procedures such as gastrotomy, pyloroplasty, gastrojejunostomy, Heller myotomy, and Nissen and Dor fundoplications. The program combines theoretical sessions on technical aspects, complications, and surgical options in reflux surgery with intensive hands-on training in a highly specialized setting.

Description

The Laparoscopic Suturing Course: Upper Digestive Tract (June Edition) offers advanced training for surgeons who wish to refine their skills in intracorporeal suturing and knotting as applied to digestive surgery. Under the direction of Dr. Antonio Barranco Moreno (Infanta Luisa Hospital, Seville), Dr. Francisco M. Sánchez Margallo (Scientific Director of CCMIJU, Cáceres), Dr. Gloria Tadeo (La Mancha-Centro Hospital Complex, Ciudad Real), and Dr. María del Carmen Tejonero Álvarez (Santa María del Puerto Hospital, Cádiz), the course combines theoretical sessions, intensive practical training, and demonstrations in a highly specialized setting.

Over the course of three days, participants will delve into the technical fundamentals of laparoscopic suturing and its application to upper gastrointestinal procedures, such as gastrotomy, pyloroplasty, gastrojejunostomy, Heller myotomy, and Nissen and Dor fundoplications. The training includes sessions using simulators and experimental models that allow for the precise reproduction of real surgical scenarios.

The lectures delivered by specialists such as Dr. Gloria Tadeo and Dr. José Ramón Torres Alfonso address key topics such as technical options for managing specific complications in reflux surgery and resolving intraoperative problems. In this way, the course provides a comprehensive educational experience that combines technical skill, surgical decision-making, and applied knowledge, consolidating essential competencies for the advanced laparoscopic approach to the upper digestive tract.
