Description
The Laparoscopic Suturing Course: Upper Digestive Tract (June Edition) offers advanced training aimed at surgeons seeking to refine their skills in intracorporeal suturing and knot tying applied to digestive surgery. Under the direction of Dr. Antonio Barranco Moreno (Infanta Luisa Hospital, Seville), Dr. Francisco M. Sánchez Margallo (Scientific Director of CCMIJU, Cáceres), Dr. Gloria Tadeo (La Mancha-Centro Hospital Complex, Ciudad Real), and Dr. María del Carmen Tejonero Álvarez (Santa María del Puerto Hospital, Cádiz), the course combines theoretical sessions, intensive hands-on training, and demonstrations in a highly specialized environment.
Over three days, participants will delve into the technical foundations of laparoscopic suturing and its application to upper digestive tract procedures such as gastrotomy, pyloroplasty, gastrojejunostomy, Heller myotomy, and Nissen and Dor fundoplications. The training includes a robotic surgery demonstration, as well as sessions using simulators and experimental models that accurately reproduce real surgical scenarios.
Lectures delivered by specialists such as Dr. Gloria Tadeo and Dr. José Ramón Torres Alfonso address key aspects including technical options for managing specific complications in reflux surgery and the resolution of intraoperative problems. In this way, the course provides a comprehensive training experience that combines technical skill, surgical decision-making, and applied knowledge, consolidating essential competencies for advanced laparoscopic management of the upper digestive tract.
