Description

Organized by the Jesús Usón Minimally Invasive Surgery Center (CCMIJU), this course is designed as a highly specialized training program aimed at gastroenterologists and endoscopists who wish to deepen their expertise in endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) as an advanced therapeutic procedure for the treatment of lesions in the digestive tract. The course offers a comprehensive and structured approach, combining fundamental theoretical content with an extensive practical program, allowing participants to acquire and consolidate technical skills in a highly specialized learning environment.

The course is directed by Dr. Francisco Miguel Sánchez Margallo, Scientific Director of CCMIJU, and Dr. Sarbelio Rodríguez Muñoz, Head of the Digestive System Department at Ruber Juan Bravo Hospital Complex in Madrid. It also features an expert teaching team in advanced digestive endoscopy, composed of specialists with strong clinical and teaching experience. The participation of faculty from various hospital centers provides a complementary and up-to-date perspective, grounded in real clinical experience and the application of the latest scientific evidence in the field of ESD.

Throughout the course, participants will cover the fundamental principles of endoscopic submucosal dissection, including indications, contraindications, risks, and benefits, as well as operative techniques, the handling of specific instruments, and procedure planning. The practical program is central and progresses through ex vivo simulator exercises and intensive training on animal models. This approach allows participants to practice all phases of ESD, improve technical precision, and gain confidence in performing the procedure under direct supervision of the teaching staff.

This training activity represents a high-value opportunity for professional development, aimed at enhancing skills in therapeutic digestive endoscopy. It promotes the direct transfer of knowledge to clinical practice and facilitates the exchange of experiences with leading experts in endoscopic submucosal dissection, all within the excellence-driven learning environment of CCMIJU.
