Description

The XV Practical Course on Digestive Ultrasound, Puncture, and Percutaneous Drainage, to be held on February 12 and 13, 2026, at the facilities of the Jesús Usón Minimally Invasive Surgery Center (CCMIJU), offers comprehensive training aimed at refining ultrasound-guided interventional techniques in the digestive field.

Over two intensive days, participants will have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound interventions, covering topics such as liver biopsy, fine-needle aspiration (FNA), drainage of abscesses and collections, percutaneous ablation of hepatocellular carcinoma, and intestinal ultrasound in the context of inflammatory bowel disease.

The program combines theoretical sessions with practical training on simulators and experimental models, allowing students to acquire proficiency in performing ultrasound-guided procedures under the direct supervision of a highly specialized teaching team.

The course is directed by Dr. Federico Soria Gálvez (Head of Experimental Surgery, Hospital Universitario Ramón y Cajal, Madrid), Dr. Fernando Muñoz Núñez (President of the Spanish Association of Digestive Ultrasound – AEED), and Dr. Francisco Miguel Sánchez Margallo (Scientific Director of CCMIJU).

The teaching team consists of leading specialists in the field: Dr. Antonio López Cano (Head of the Digestive Unit, Hospital Recoletas López Cano, Cádiz), Dr. Manuel A. Macías Rodríguez (Head of the Digestive Unit, Hospital Puerta del Mar, Cádiz), Dr. Manuel Crespo Sánchez (Hospital San Agustín, Avilés), Dr. Mariano Gómez Rubio (Hospital Universitario de Getafe, Madrid), Dr. Miguel Fernández Bermejo (Hospital Universitario de Cáceres), and Dra. Paloma Rendón Unceta (Hospital Puerta del Mar, Cádiz).

This edition continues CCMIJU’s commitment to educational excellence, providing healthcare professionals with an advanced learning environment based on practice, technological innovation, and the transfer of high-level clinical knowledge.
