Theoretical-Practical Course on Percutaneous Renal Surgery and Endourology

This intensive course offers urologists the opportunity to update their knowledge and skills in percutaneous renal surgery and endourology with the guidance of a distinguished team of specialists.

Under the direction of Drs. Francisco Miguel Sánchez Margallo, Álvaro Serrano Pascual and Antonio Servera Ruíz de Velasco, and with a faculty of professors of recognized national prestige, the program combines theoretical sessions with hands-on practical training.

Students will work on simulators and animal models, acquiring skills in procedures such as percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL), ultrasound-guided renal puncture, endourological management of the upper urinary tract with fluoroscopy, laser lithotripsy, and the use of multimodal fusion ultrasound.

Comprehensive and eminently practical training to confidently face the challenges of current endourology.

Description

The Jesús Usón Minimally Invasive Surgery Centre (CCMIJU) will host on June 23 and 24 the Theoretical-Practical Course on Percutaneous Renal Surgery and Endourology, an essential event for urologists seeking to update their knowledge and refine their technique in the minimally invasive treatment of lithiasis.

The course will be directed by a committee of recognized prestige headed by Dr. Francisco Miguel Sánchez Margallo, Scientific Director of CCMIJU; Dr. Álvaro Serrano Pascual from Hospital Universitario Vithas Arturo Soria in Madrid; and Dr. Antonio Servera Ruíz de Velasco from Fundación Hospital de Manacor (Palma de Mallorca).

Together with them, an exceptional faculty of experts in the field will accompany the students throughout the entire program. The teaching team will be completed by Drs. Alberto Pérez-Lanzac (Hospital Vithas Arturo Soria, Madrid), Gonzalo Bueno Serrano (Hospital Fundación Jiménez Díaz, Madrid), Javier Aranda Pérez (Hospital Universitario, Cáceres), Juan Pablo Caballero Romeu (Hospital General Universitario Dr. Balmis, Alicante), Luis Llanes González (Hospital Universitario de Getafe, Madrid) and Luis Resel Folkersma (Hospital MD Anderson Cancer Center, Madrid).

Over the course of two intensive days, participants will combine theoretical sessions with an extensive practical block. Thanks to the technological infrastructure of CCMIJU, students will be able to train on simulators and animal models, learning and refining key procedures such as percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL), ultrasound-guided renal puncture, endourological management of the urinary tract with fluoroscopy, or the use of laser and multimodal fusion ultrasound.

The objective is to offer comprehensive and applicable training that addresses everything from the selection of the technique and the handling of the most advanced instruments to the prevention and resolution of complications in URS, RIRS and PCNL.
