Description
The XLIV Microvascular and Nervous Microsurgery Course is designed for professionals seeking to acquire and refine skills in the use of microsurgical instruments and techniques. Over three intensive days, participants are introduced to both the theoretical and practical foundations of microsurgery, following a progressive, hands-on approach from basic suturing exercises to advanced procedures on “in vivo” models.
The program begins with an introduction to microsurgery and suturing exercises on practice plates, allowing participants to develop the precision and coordination required under magnification. Advanced techniques include end-to-end arterial anastomosis on synthetic and live vessels, end-to-side anastomosis, nerve suturing with dissection of the sciatic nerve, and venous suturing on the femoral vein, including venous autograft practice.
The course combines theoretical lectures by experts with an extensive practical block using organic tissue and experimental models, promoting active learning in a highly controlled environment equipped with the latest technical resources. This structure ensures participants acquire the competencies necessary to perform microsurgical techniques safely and accurately in both clinical and experimental settings.
