Description
The Laparoscopic Radical Prostatectomy Course, to be held on January 29–30, 2026, at the Fundación Centro de Cirugía de Mínima Invasión Jesús Usón (Cáceres), is designed to provide a comprehensive and highly practical training experience for urologists seeking to consolidate and refine their surgical skills. Over two intensive days, participants will have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the theoretical foundations of the technique while performing supervised practice on simulators and experimental models.
The program includes dissection and suturing exercises on organic tissues, laparoscopic suturing practice on simulators, and rotations on robotic platforms, allowing attendees to become familiar with the precision and ergonomics offered by this technology. Additionally, multiple practical sessions on laparoscopic radical prostatectomy using experimental models will cover key aspects such as anatomical identification, preservation of neurovascular structures, and surgical margin control.
The course will be led by Dr. Álvaro Serrano Pascual (Specialist, Urology Service, Hospital Clínico San Carlos, Madrid) and will feature Dr. Jaime Bachiller Burgos (Head, Urology Service, Hospital San Juan de Dios del Aljarafe, Seville) and Dr. Javier Aranda Pérez (Urology Service, Complejo Hospitalario Universitario, Cáceres). Their expertise will ensure personalized training, with direct attention to each participant and a methodology focused on perfecting surgical technique and decision-making in the laparoscopic environment.
