Description
The Laparoscopic Suturing Course: Upper Digestive Tract offers highly specialized training aimed at surgeons who wish to refine their skills in intracorporeal suturing and knotting techniques applied to upper digestive tract surgery. Over three intensive days, participants will work on key procedures such as gastrotomy, pyloroplasty, gastrojejunostomy, Heller myotomy, and Nissen fundoplication, combining theoretical sessions with an extensive practical component in simulators and experimental models.
The program covers both the technical fundamentals of laparoscopic suturing and the management of specific challenges in gastroesophageal reflux surgery and complications arising from fundoplication. This combination of theory and practice allows participants to consolidate high-precision surgical skills, improve intraoperative decision-making, and enhance safety in the operating room.
The course is directed by Dr. Álvaro Serrano Pascual (Urology Service, Hospital Clínico San Carlos, Madrid) and Dr. Francisco Miguel Sánchez Margallo (Scientific Director of the Jesús Usón Minimally Invasive Surgery Center, Cáceres), and features a distinguished faculty including Dr. Antonio Servera (Hospital de Manacor, Balearic Islands), Dr. Javier Aranda (Complejo Hospital Universitario, Cáceres), and Dra. Consuelo Conde Redondo (Hospital Universitario Río Hortega, Valladolid). Under their guidance, participants will experience immersive training focused on technical excellence and the clinical application of laparoscopic suturing in advanced digestive surgery.
