Description
The Advanced Laparoscopic Gynecology Course, directed by Dr. Francisco Miguel Sánchez Margallo, Scientific Director of the Jesús Usón Minimally Invasive Surgery Center (CCMIJU), is designed for gynecologists with prior laparoscopic experience who wish to deepen their skills in advanced surgical techniques and the use of new technologies in minimally invasive surgery.
Over three intensive days, the course combines theoretical sessions, hands-on practice, and robotic surgery demonstrations. On the first day, participants perform dissection and intracorporeal suturing exercises, accompanied by a robotic surgery demonstration, allowing them to experience the potential of robotic platforms in gynecologic surgery.
The following days focus on technical refinement, including pelvic and para-aortic lymphadenectomy, guided practice under the supervision of the CCMIJU team and a high-level faculty including Dr. Javier de Santiago García (MD Anderson Cancer Center, Madrid), Dr. Octavio López Albors (Chair of Anatomy, Faculty of Veterinary, University of Murcia), and Dra. Sara Morales Sierra (Hospital Universitario Infanta Leonor, Madrid). Practical sessions are complemented by theoretical lectures on surgical anatomy, video-based surgical analysis, and management of intraoperative complications, providing a comprehensive and up-to-date perspective on advanced laparoscopic techniques in oncologic and reconstructive gynecology.
This advanced training program offers an immersive, highly technical experience with a strong practical focus, enabling participants to optimize surgical skills in a high-fidelity simulation environment.
