Experimental Course on Laparoscopic Sacrocolpopexy

An intensive training program aimed at updating and refining the technique for prolapse correction through a laparoscopic approach. The program combines theoretical sessions on the current status of prolapse surgery, applied anatomy, and a step-by-step review of the technique, with an extensive practical component using simulators, a robotic platform, and experimental models. Participants develop skills in suturing, dissection, and the complete execution of colposacropexy, incorporating surgical tips and strategies for complication prevention. This is a highly specialized course designed to strengthen technical skills and decision-making in minimally invasive pelvic reconstructive surgery.

Description

The IX Experimental Course on Laparoscopic Colposacropexy constitutes a highly specialized training program aimed at refining surgical skills in the minimally invasive treatment of prolapse through colposacropexy. The course is directed by Dr. Álvaro Serrano (Department of Urology at Vithas Arturo Soria Hospital, Madrid), Dr. Antonio Servera Ruiz de Velasco (Head of the Endourology and Lithiasis Section at Hospital de Manacor, Mallorca), and Dr. Francisco Miguel Sánchez Margallo (Scientific Director of CCMIJU), who have designed an intensive program that combines a solid theoretical foundation with high-level practical training.

The training begins with an update on the current status of prolapse surgery and the role of colposacropexy, delivered by Dr. Elisabetta Costantini (AOU of Terni, University of Perugia). Subsequently, participants work on simulators and a robotic platform to enhance suturing precision and dexterity in key movements of the laparoscopic approach.

The second day focuses on anatomy applied to the experimental model, led by Dr. Octavio López Albors, as well as a step-by-step explanation of the surgical technique by Dr. Antonio Servera Ruiz de Velasco. This is followed by extensive hands-on colposacropexy sessions on experimental models, replicating the essential stages of the procedure.

The final day incorporates surgical tips and advanced recommendations from Dr. Rodrigo Gil Ugarteburu, focused on complication prevention and technical alternatives for the management of vaginal prolapse. The course concludes with further experimental practice sessions that allow participants to integrate all the knowledge acquired.

This training proposal offers a comprehensive immersion in the laparoscopic colposacropexy technique, combining academic rigor with a strongly practical approach that promotes the acquisition of skills directly applicable to real clinical practice.
